The 2013 Diversity Visa (green card) lottery is now open for entry. Please enter before the deadline of Saturday, November 5, 2011, at noon EST. The entry must be made online at https://www.dvlottery.state.gov/. After you submit the entry, print out the confirmation number and save it.
I recommend saving a few copies in different places since there is no way to retrieve it if you lose it.
The confirmation number is the only way to find out if you are selected. You can check your entrant status on May 1, 2012.

TIP: Spouses can each submit a separate entry to the DV lottery to increase your chances. If one of you is a winner, you can both apply for your green cards. You can also use your spouse’s country of eligibility. For example, if you were born in Taiwan and your spouse was born in Korea, your Korean spouse can claim Taiwan for eligibility in the DV lottery.

Thank you for sharing. The advantage for spouse is they both can file a separate entry. Even if one wins, the other can apply through him.
